We wash the outdoor unit both times a year, even if you have a gas furnace. We pull and clean the indoor blower motor on every tune up to remove dust that can spread throughout the duct system. Yes, it takes a little more time, but we believe it’s the right thing to do. We polish, with wax, the top of the compressor and the top of the outdoor unit. We also replace every screw we find missing in the equipment, even the ones others leave out, because we believe in tightening the equipment up like it was new!
